FAQ

Can I make my Mac open Google Maps links in Apple Maps automatically?

No. macOS has no default maps app setting, and a google.com/maps link is a web link, so it opens in your browser. Convert it, and the maps.apple.com link opens in the Maps app.

Does Apple Maps on Mac support all the same features?

Most of them: Guides, Look Around, Favorites and directions. There's no turn-by-turn navigation on a Mac — your iPhone handles that.

Will the converted link work on my iPhone too?

Yes. A maps.apple.com link opens the Maps app on iPhone, iPad and Mac, and a web map anywhere else.

What if a link doesn't convert?

Saved-list and My Maps links hold many places — export the list and use the file converter. Links shared from Google Search (share.google) can't be read; open the place in Google Maps and copy that link instead.
