How to Share Apple Maps Guides with Anyone (iPhone, Android, Web)
Short answer
Open the Guide in Apple Maps, tap Share, and send it with Messages, Mail or AirDrop — or copy the link. On iPhone, iPad and Mac it opens in Maps; on Android and other devices it opens Apple Maps on the web. Need Google Maps links instead? Paste the Guide link into the Guide Decoder.

Where the link opens
| Recipient | What they get |
|---|---|
| iPhone, iPad, Mac | The Guide, in Maps |
| Android, Windows, any browser | Apple Maps on the web |
| iPhone on iOS 13 or older | Can't open Guides — they need iOS 14 or newer |
Anyone with the link can open the Guide. Send it only to people you'd show the list to.
What a Guide link looks like
A shared Guide link looks like https://maps.apple.com/guides?user=…. The long code after user= is what the Guide Decoder reads to list the places.
FAQ
Can Android users open Apple Maps Guides?
Yes, in a browser. The link opens Apple Maps on the web, since there's no Apple Maps app for Android. For a Google Maps link to each place, paste the Guide link into our Guide Decoder.
How do I share a Guide from a Mac?
In Maps, click Guides in the sidebar, click More next to the Guide, then choose how to share it — Messages, Mail or AirDrop, for example.
Why can't my friend open the Guide?
Guides need iOS 14 or newer. On an older iPhone, send the places as Google Maps links from our Guide Decoder instead.
Why is a place missing from the shared Guide?
Only places in that Guide go with the link. Open the Guide and check the place is listed there, then share it again.
Can I turn a Google Maps list into a Guide to share?
Yes. Export the list with Google Takeout, upload the file on our home page, and you get one Apple Maps Guide link to share like any other. Places that can't be matched automatically are listed so you can add them by hand.
